Against a backdrop of rapidly evolving scientific, technological, and societal priorities, 2025 marked an important milestone for LIST. Building on the Unity project launched in 2024 and alongside preparations for its 2026–2029 multi-annual plan, the institute, under new leadership, undertook a process to redefine its vision, mission, and values.
Through a participatory approach involving scientists, technicians, and support staff, LIST reaffirmed the foundations of its work. These commitments now provide a shared framework for the institute’s research, innovation, and technology transfer activities in the years ahead.
The values that underpin the institute’s work are not merely an institutional framework. They also translate into a set of operational commitments aimed at ensuring a responsible, inclusive, and sustainable work environment.
In this context, LIST implements a series of initiatives and structural measures designed to promote diversity and inclusion, ensure safe and respectful working conditions, and support the well-being and professional fulfilment of all its employees. Alongside flexible working conditions that promote a balance between work and personal life, these actions help strengthen a collective framework conducive to innovation, collaboration, and sustainable performance.
LIST is taking a new step in supporting its PhD students with the establishment of the PhD Office within the Science Directorate. This new entity aims to professionalize the framework of doctoral training.
