Developed at LIST, TwiSCO technology was showcased at the Luxembourg Venture Days 2025, a deep tech promotion event held on 22 and 23 October 2025. It was presented to investors and stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem to foster research-to-market initiatives and industrial engagement.
TwiSCO technology is a project aimed at digitizing and optimizing construction site logistics, developed with an approach rooted in applied research and the transition towards solutions deployable by the construction industry. It is a digital platform integrating a semantic digital twin coupled with flow optimization tools, designed to address the operational and environmental challenges of construction site logistics, particularly in the areas of kitting and consolidated deliveries
The BISTWIN partnership marks a key milestone in the modernization of mobility in Bissen, thanks to the use of a territorial digital twin developed by LIST. This virtual model faithfully replicates the functioning of the municipality’s mobility network — travel, infrastructure, multimodal flows — and enables the simulation of various development scenarios.
Thanks to this approach, local decision-makers can test the impact of future infrastructure, evaluate sustainable mobility measures, or anticipate the effects of new urban developments, all within a secure and predictive environment. By collaborating with the municipality, LIST is harnessing the power of advanced modeling to support public policies that are more informed, more sustainable, and better tailored to residents’ needs.
Launched in June, the SMARTSPIRES project aims to transform the Belval site into an urban laboratory for testing smart city technologies. Co-financed to the tune of 3.1 million euros by the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), it brings together a consortium comprising 5SKYE, Gcore, Orange Luxembourg, and LIST. The initiative is based on the deployment of smart towers combining 5G connectivity, edge computing capabilities, and connected sensors (Internet of Things - IoT) to process data locally and enable more responsive, secure, and sustainable urban services.
In Belval, this infrastructure will be used to test several practical applications, particularly to improve mobility, enhance safety through the analysis of pedestrian flows, and optimize waste management. A living lab dedicated to smart cities, led by LIST, will facilitate the testing and evaluation of these solutions in collaboration with local stakeholders. Ultimately, SMARTSPIRES aims to serve as a model for other European cities seeking to develop smarter and more connected urban services.
