In 2025, LIST launched the SaveCrops4EU project, selected by the European Space Agency (ESA), aimed at developing a Digital Twin Component (DTC) for agriculture.
This technology combines Earth observation data, crop growth modeling, and AI to provide real-time monitoring of crop health, seasonal forecasts, simulation tools to anticipate the effects of climate change, and recommendations to optimize water, nitrogen, and agricultural resilience.
FM, a leading U.S. commercial property insurer, and LIST entered a strategic research partnership in June 2025. This collaboration aims to develop advanced tools to anticipate and mitigate climate-and cybersecurity-related risks, thereby strengthening business resilience.

The BRANCH project, “Mitigating deforestation with the world’s first bioengineered cultured wood,” funded by Eurostars and led by LIST in partnership with the startup New Dawn Bio, aims to create the first prototype of wood grown from plant cells in bioreactors. This bioengineering seeks to offer a sustainable alternative to deforestation.
The goal is to produce functional wood without cutting down trees by using cultured plant cells, thereby offering a sustainable alternative to traditional logging, targeting high-end industries.
